CATIA V5 is our CAD standard and the basis for article and tool designs. Complex designs are backed up by simulation programs such as FEM calculations, mold flow analyses, etc. Via CAD/CAM the data transfer to internal and external tool centers takes place.
Own toolmaking
Thus, our own tool shop at the main plant in Lippstadt guarantees the greatest possible independence and speed. The construction of new tools, tool modifications, repairs and maintenance work are carried out on short routes and enable rapid action. State-of-the-art machines of all common machining technologies ensure maximum precision - even for tools for parts with complex mold geometries and multiple components.
Present and future
Via CAM systems, the product and design data from our 3D CATIA/CAD systems control the latest CNC machines for the economical production of high-performance injection molds: CNC milling machines, graphite machining centers, die-sinking and wire erosion systems. We achieve short development times by means of rapid prototyping based on a wide variety of manufacturing techniques. Our tool shop also serves our manufacturing process with jigs and fixtures as well as testing and measuring gauges. An own tool shop at the Schieffer location in Romania is in preparation. For many years, however, tool repairs and maintenance have already been carried out using our own milling and eroding machines.

Our goal: zero-defect strategy. All Schieffer Group locations are certified according to DIN EN ISO 9001/ IATF 16949. Our preventive quality thinking includes QA management of all relevant process steps and ensures that quality is first planned and then produced. All processes in our company are oriented to the "zero defect strategy"; many workshops on the topic of "zero defect" as well as "go, see & fix audits" are conducted on a regular basis. State-of-the-art measuring equipment and procedures ensure the top quality in manufacturing processes that Schieffer rightly expects. Our testing equipment includes 3D coordinate measuring machines, tactile and optical, video measuring microscopes, profile projectors, color measuring devices, heat cabinets, tensile/compression test benches and product-specific automatic testing machines.

At Schieffer, quality management already begins in the development phase. All product characteristics are planned in consultation with the customer, validated in strict tests during sampling and produced in series using the latest testing methodology. Documentation for our customers is carried out completely in accordance with standard and customer specifications. Piping systems from Schieffer impress with their long service life and a high degree of environmental compatibility. For example, maximum functional reliability and aging resistance are achieved with consideration for optimal material use and minimization of raw material resources. The all-round conscientious approach and the manufacturing in a clean production according to all standards offer the guarantee for the high-grade and reproducible product quality in series production.

For this reason, we have optimized our "Hydraulic and Fluid Systems" product lines in all areas for maximum perfection and precision. All processes are designed as continuous and modern flow production, guarantee short throughput times and can be flexibly coordinated at any time. Injection molding
Process reliability and reproducibility - injection molding thermoplastics / elastomers / thermoplastic elastomers. Efficient production of the highest quality: 100 modern thermoplastic, elastomer and thermoplastic elastomer injection molding machines at our plants in Lippstadt and Romania produce our high-precision molded articles. Central material supply and a maximum degree of automation enable efficient production of the highest quality. With processes in multi-component technology (especially hard/soft compounds) or in-mold assembly (combinations of plastic/metal), we offer the markets possible specializations. In elastomer production, depending on the application, the processes range from injection molding (IM) to traditional compression molding (TM), alternatively injection molding solutions of thermoplastic elastomers. Using semi- and fully-automated solutions, we assemble individual components made of plastic, rubber and metal into more complex assemblies with additional functions. We will continue to expand this special capability in a future-oriented manner in order to constantly offer our customers "more" added value.
